March CHALLENGE is up
Deanne has "sprung" a brand new challenge for March :D
Please check it out at the FSS CHALLENGE BLOG and get all the details on how to participate and get a chance to win another $20 GC! Oh the girls' card are soooo pretty! Go see! ;)
We will be picking winners today for the February Challenge AND for our BLOG HOP! Thanks so much to all who participated! We will be posting the winners here and at the Challenge Blog.
Here is a card I made to celebrate SPRING and the challenge!
I used the FSS Digi Freebie being offered at the Operation Write Home's Star and Stamps Blog. "Tulips Trio" The die cut frame was made using alcohol inks and the outer frame had distress inks sponged on (both die cuts are Spellbinders). The tulips were coloured with coloured pencils/OMS and glittered with Diamond Stickles. My new favourite thing ATM is pearl string! I went and bought over 80 yards in ivory, white and irridescent pearl string. Am I nuts? Yes LOL. In case you are wondering how I get my pearls to stay good and stuck on my card.... Zip Dry Glue... that stuff is awesome! Just a tiny thin line of the glue keeps the string in place and grabs and holds (and sets up) really quick!
Have a great day!

SPOTLIGHT: Sonya Appel
I am so happy to have Sonya in the spotlight today! Sonya makes such gorgeous cards and she is the master of the quilling and flower-anything... sooo pretty! Anyhoo, Sonya had a special request for me ( I'll let her tell the story ;) ) Sonya made this gorgeous box! Also please go congratulate Sonya, she just posted on her blog that she is a new Grandma to a sweet little girl! Woohoo!
Here's Sonya!

Your A Blessing Magic Box.
This Emma image was a special request and Tracey outdid herself. I asked her for an Emma made especially for these magic boxes. One where Emma would be holding a sign with a sentiment and that had a back view since the magic boxes are a 360 view. You can see from the pictures that it works beautifully and, in my opinon, makes the box extra special!! The floating flowers are also in this digi set and come in three sizes for layering or for smaller boxes.
Emma and the flowers were colored in Prismacolors and OMS. The flowers were lined with metallic gel pens, shaped, layered and glittered then adhered with glue dots to their acetate floating "stems". I decided not to add leaves so not to add another color, but you could if you so desire. Emma is attached to the bottom of the box just as the flowers are but does not move. When you take the lid off of the box the sides fall to reveal the surprise of falling flowers that "float" with very little air movement. You can adapt this box to a smaller size and the variations are endless! I have more details on my blog, www.appelquilling.blogspot.com. Thanks sooo much Tracey for such a cute Emma to play with!

SPOTLIGHT: Julie Stewart
I am happy to have Julie Stewart in the Spotlight this week! I love Julie's style, she just KNOWS how to take a simple design to maximum 'oomph'. :)
Julie's project this week is a card set!
Here's Julie!:
*******************
I thought this group of images would make a cute little set of cards to give away as a gift. The box is just made from 2 pieces of 8 1/2 x 10 and scored on each side to fit the A2 size cards. I thought I would keep each layout the same to make it look like a set. I used one extra image and a little ribbon to match the box to the cards. The images are from the Pre-Coloured Fall Flowers and PP Set.
***********************************
Thanks so much, Julie! I'd love a gift like this! So pretty!
Just in case you forgot PEEPs!:
FSS Challenge still going on :) Chance to win $20 GC!
