Hi all! This is for my readers who get Fred She Said posts via email. If this doesn't apply to you, carry on LOL :)
Here's the SHORT VERSION. I have to shut down my current email subscriptions ( all 1500 of you :( ) because the wording on the emails you receive do not supply enough of my contact information to make the Canadian spam police happy. PLEASE use the form below if you would like to receive updates from Fred She Said Designs in the future :) NOTE this ONLY affects email subscriptions not feed subscriptions.
LONG VERSION
It has come to my attention that on July 1st 2014, Canada will put into effect new Anti Spam Legislation. Emails sent to Canadian individuals with any promotional or commercial language are illegal unless the sender has expressed permission to do so before the email is sent. I was misinformed that my email subscribership using FeedBurner was OK because it had a double opt in procedure to subscribe and a way to unsubscribe with every email sent out. Apparently that is not enough. On July 2, I will delete the old subscriber list as I can't find a way to edit the required info into email posts and I don't have an avenue to allow you to re-opt in. This will be the only email you will receive from Fred She Said Designs. NOTE this ONLY affects email subscriptions sent to your inbox not feed subscriptions. PLEASE use the form below if you would like to receive updates from Fred She Said Designs in the future :)
Please note, Fred She Said Designs only sends emails if you subscribe to updates and also to deal with customer orders and questions.
A word to the wise doing business. These new anti spam laws apply to you even if you live outside of Canada. I would advise really reading up on it because it is more strict and encompassing than you might think... and $1 million fines? yikes!
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE EMAIL UPDATES FOR THIS BLOG:

I am participating in the Online Card Classes - Watercolor for Card Makers Class. I won't explain how I did the background but it was a super easy AH HA moment.... "why didn't I think of that" ;) The class is great for both beginner and experienced card watercolourers. It is reacquainting me with techniques I have forgot about and has introduced me to new techniques. A LOT of fun and is inspiring me to spend more playtime at my desk :)
Here is the watercolour panel before I assembled the card:

So last fall/early summer I got a gelli plate. From only 4 sessions with it out - I have a one inch thick STACK of printed papers LOL! They have been sitting in my storage bin... waiting. The prints are so neat... you never know what you will end up with, some are eww ( yey collage! yey paint over them!) and some are ooooooh! I love the gamble... and if you use cheap paper, the gamble isn't worth much but the joy of pretty background papers is something! I am guessing the more you use it, you develop "an understanding" of how great prints can come together and come out more often ;)
More and more crafters are getting on the gelli plate bandwagon. They make excellent background papers for your cards... and envelopes! While in a rut, and while waiting for an oil change in town, I headed to my LSS and bought a We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board. I have to admit I was having more fun making making the envelopes from my gelli prints than making the cards :O. I have the 8X10 plate and had a 2 ish inch strip of print left over from the printed paper after I made the envelope... so I made coordinating cards. Cards and envelopes are A2.
For the gelli prints, I used craft acrylic paints, various stencils, bubble wrap and foam rubber textured mats, and on the pink card I stamped doodled flowers in gold ink on the gelli print. The flower and butterfly images were coloured with colored pencils and dry blended and sometimes a bit of blending with a Prismacolor blending marker.
Boy was that a long hiatus or what? I didn't mean to go this long posting! Perhaps in a future post I will fill you all in. We are all OK ( nothing major LOL) and learning to get through life's little hurdles with God's grace and learning to trust in Him. It's a learning curve, I tell ya, and He isn't done with us yet.... and I am also trying to realize that that is a GOOD thing :)
But while on my hiatus, a lovely lady, Jody Stacy, emailed me about turning my digital designs into high quality clear photo polymer stamps. We are in the process of having a few designs ready for an upcoming Easter release! I'll update soon :) :)
Treasured Times Rubber Stamps & Scrapbooking also sells a myriad of stamping and scrapbooking products and also deals in wholesale and sells world-wide. Many other wonderful illustrators are working with Treasured Times as well :)
If you have a favourite Fred She Said digital design you would like to see turned into clear stamps, please leave a comment or email me!
I will be back tomorrow with some cute little projects I have recently been working on. Until then...
