Flower Medallion

I think I finished a design today. I've been struggling with ink design of this one for a few weeks. I am going to give it a go at layering this on a card this week.

Fluffing the Nest

I've been playing with my blog. I added a new Header (It matches my new dress!), edited some posts to get rid of annoying slideshows and slowdowns, worked on labels (still a mess) and added a counter . I tried other colours for backgrounds and other header designs...but I seem to love the black. I learned SO MUCH experimenting and tweaking and reading the Blogger Help section. Blogs aren't so confuddling and intimidating now.

Here is a tile I made. The image was originally a strange flower I made out of comma strokes. Feel free to colourize, use as a pattern, mask, etc.

Here is a Round Robin card I made recently. It's embellished with iridescent blue twinklers. This design (along with some 'friends') might be in the process of becoming a stamp ;) .

Card - Doodledallion... Great News!

A card I made my husband. I am quite excited about it. It has become a rubberstamp! Yes, a rubberstamp! Carol Clements, the wonderful owner of StampAttack Art Stamps saw my design and thought it would make a great stamp! Please check her out... some lovely stamps to be had there :) I just got my rubber for this , straight from England, and I can't wait to try it. I have a feeling I will be giving my heatgun and my twinkling H2O's a work out. Stay Tuned.

Google Painting

This is a painting I did from a photo I found using Google..hence "google painting". This one was lightened ALOT after it was painted; I found it didn't print so well in its darker state. I hate that LOL! I hope to produce more "google paintings" in the future. Next time I do this I will make note of the photographer and link.

"Emma at the Beach"

I digitally painted this portrait of my daughter for her grandfolk for Christmas. I used two crappy shots I took. I thought the lighting of the two would allow a "realistic" merge. Yep, I made Gramma bawl again LOL! priceless. I am embarrassed to show the original photos but, they show just how far I had to go with this one LOL.... Tracey loves challenges! However, my photography skills need some major work...in my defense, horrible digital camera was used. Just purchased a Canon S3 IS 12x zoom digital camera. I hope to teach myself to use it this year.

Foldy Flowers

These are a work in progress. Here is a tile sample. The premise is to print between 8 and 12 of these tiles ( around 1.5 to 2 inches in size - this will be the size or your completed flower ). Cut along the lines, fold using basic squashed square fold. Cut around the petals. The folded-in parts kind of interlock together- assembled "tight" will take 8 tiles and you will have an inner circle of small petals and an outer layer of larger petals. Assemble and glue together. I generally use a teabag folding placement guide ( A circle outline with pie shaped wedges - different guides for different amounts of tiles for assembly).

Here is a card sample. The flower medallion is actually 2 6-tile medallions glued on top of each other. I also digitally painted the cardfront. The flower was outlined with a clear Sakura Stardust glitter pen. I LOVE this pen! The background flowers and edge were enhanced with Twinkling H2O's watercolour paints - but they don't scan well.

Welcome and Christmas Tiles


Welcome to my blog! I am "Fred", actually it's Tracey Miller but have had the nickname, Fred since a child. It is a wonderful name, more folks should be named Fred LOL!

I hope to offer goodies here from time to time. I enjoy drawing and doodling little creations and here is one for the upcoming holidays. I am an avid "teabag folder" and have designed this tile for a specific fold, "The Picture Teabag Fold" also known as Double Diamonds Fold arranged in a "Starflower" formation. What you get is the full poinsettia in the center with "leaves" radiating around it. I hope to show you the final medallion once I get a card completed.



The second tile here is useful for card backgrounds.
