WCMD Challenge reminder and Card

Hi! I knew this in the back of my head but it didn't sink in when we took the plunge to add a new puppy to the family. They are like having babies!!!! They are up at night, they pee and poop alot.. and hopefully you get them outside before they do it LOL! Unlike babies, puppies have sharp teeth and Rosey has discovered hers and her BARK. She is at the magical toothy bite everything age. So we are teaching her manners about not biting... it is slowly sinking in but man, they can bite! LOL. So sleep deprived, Fred is showing a card she made a few weeks ago LOL! I love this Sizzix embossing folder, can't recall name at the moment. This is coloured with pencils/OMS and distress inks ( aged mahogany and antique linen), I didn't expect a mahogany color to be such a nice pink. The digistamp and paper pricking pattern are from the Fall Flowers Set.

I am also sending out a reminder to try out the FSS World Card Making Day Challenge... open until Monday, Oct. 12 midnight. Just post a link or email me a pic of your card using any FSS product or FSS freebie. $50 worth of prizes!

It is Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow... we are heading out on the road, so if you email me, replies might be delayed until late Sunday night or Monday.

Oh yes, still working on the coloured flowers and doodledallions... sigh. I'll "get there " LOL.

Have a great day!

Drive-By: Christmas Card 2

Here is the other quick christmas card I made. I used Emma the Hugger coloured version. The scalloped circle is painted with gold lumiere paint... but it didn't have a tinsel-ly enough feel so I added diamond stickles all over it and also added stickles to the image and the flakes in the embossed paper, which has broken china distress ink applied with the blending tool. This card just has this tinselly glow... I love tinsel... but not with puppies... our Molly liked to eat tinsel :O So we will keep tinsel off the tree this year so Rosey won't eat it.

Drive-By: Christmas Card

I made some quick christmas cards for a lovely lady I know. This is the Christmas Flower Doodledallions Digi Set ( no border version with snow) in which I coloured with a light blue WC pencil, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint & Pine Needles distress inks and an aqua brush. I also added Diamond Stickles and a gem. The coloured paper is actually sponged with distress inks to match. Will I need re-inkers soon? probably LOL!

CARD - using Blue Blossom Sheet

I finally got a chance to use the Dark Blue Blossom Sheet ( By the Sheet section). I showed a side view to show the dimension I got by using silicone glue and moulding the flowers. I used Stickles on centers of flowers and distress stickles ( Faded Jeans) on the blue scalloped frame. The sentiment is from a Stampendous Clear Stamp collection I got a CropStop... ( Orchid Greetings) The colours on this one really pop... I chose the vivid photo setting on my printer and used Staples brochure and flyer paper... which I think is matte photo paper.

:)* Fred who is going "back to work" on more goodies if the puppy stays asleep!

Emma in the Leaves Coloured

By request, Emma in the Leaves Coloured version... in the store. :)

I hope to get more up tonight, if not tomorrow. I have a card or two to post. So I will be back LOL.

What a Puddin Pie.... and a card

Well, this weekend ... I did not get much accomplished... we have a good reason ;)

Meet Rosey.....

errr... that is Rosey's bum... that is the first thing I noticed when I met her... the hilarious black patch on her bottom!

This is Rosey...

She is almost 10 weeks and is a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu cross. She has the softest fluffiest fur with a slight kink to it.. it reminds me of those fuzzy toilet seat covers? ROFL. She is the sweetest button and not very big, but she does have a crazy side and a touch of attention deficit disorder..like all good puppies should. But she knows that crates are for sleeping in and she knows what grass is for ;)

I have completed some coloured designs during the week.. going to upload them tomorrow.

And here is a card....

Made using Fall Flowers Digi Set and a paint spattered digital paper I have in the works. Flower is coloured with pencils/OMS. The frame is white CS embossed with a diamond pattern on the Scor-Pal and inked with Scattered Straw Distress ink and some dots of frosted lace Stickles. Used Spellbinders Labels 4 & Labels 8 and a die from the Fleur de Lis Pendant set. Blue paper is CB embossed. The ribbon is from a box of chocolates I received for my birthday :D

Have a great day!

Cards, PinstripePapers Digi-Freebie & one sheet LOL

Sorry about the delay. This weekend was a bust LOL, between family and icky sicky kids, I did not get much done. But I did putz away and made a few paper pricking cards and managed to assemble a freebie for you :)

First here is the card

I made a folder of I think 17 8X8 pinstripe papers for you to take and have fun with. They are in pastels shades and some neutral shades. I love them for paper pricking on.
You can find and download them HERE.

A word of warning.. the download is SMALL but it unzips and expands ALOT ( 12 MB).

The other backing paper is something I am working on.. some petit fleur papers. I didn't like how light it printed so I have to adjust them a bit more, there is supposed to be a faint white swirly pattern behind the little flowers, it just didn't print grrr. I distressed and blended some Dried Marigold and Peeled Paint distress inks here and there on the card. The Black-Eyed Susan ( and PP pattern are from the Fall Flowers Digi Set) is coloured with pencils and OMS. I added loose outlines around the flowers in the patterned paper with gold lumiere paint for some glitz.. and gold dewdrops.

I have also started making a "By the Sheet" designs. Carol L. has made a lovely card using the sheet I am putting up at the store... a lone sheet who was supposed to have friends but will soon LOL. The blossom is a colour that is NOT in the Lovely Blossom & Butterfly Decoupage Set.

Here is a preview of the sheet, Just about everything you need to complete a cardfront is on one sheet... how neat is that? LOL please let me know what you think... if this is something I should continue with ;)

I will put this one up at the store, it will be in a "By the Sheet" section HERE :) ... and I will add more as I make them.

Have a great day!

Emma's & Flowers & Doodledallions OH MY

I have just uploaded several goodies at the Store :D

First up is Emma in the Leaves!

Some of my Design Team have been playing and made some lovelies!

Erin played with Emma using an awesome blue and chocolate theme. You rocked the paper piecing, Erin!

Carol L. made a lovely fall themed card using "Emma in the Leaves" digi and her own leafy background digital paper, she also coloured Emma in Photoshop:

Carol also made a gorgeous Yellow Blossom card using the Lovely Blossom & Butterfly Decoupage set, I added to the store earlier this week:

Maria also made a beauty using the Blossoms set in Blue:

Next is a set very dear to me - Fall Flowers & Paper Pricking Frame Digi Set.

This set includes Sunflower, Black-eyed Susan, Asters, and Chrysanthemum digi-images.

Also inluded is this lovely coordinating paper pricking frame:

Carol H made this sunflower beauty with the paper pricking frame.. love the colours!

Maria created this whole awesome set! She used one of my blog paper freebies for backing paper:

Lisa P. used the Chrysanthemum and 3d paper toled the front and painted with twinkling H2O's... gorgeous!

Third up is the Flowering Hearts Doodledallions Digi Set:

Here are some of cards I made using the set. I didn't use the scalloped image for the pink one... it was a prototype LOL and cut with a Spellbinders scalloped die.

I tweaked the design and made multiple versions for a Christmas Flower Doodledallions Set!

No samples yet for this one, but the weekend of fun is NOT over! I hope to have more goodies plus a freebie. We will also see if more of my DT will come out and play! LOL

The Doodledallions, for my colouring challenged peeps LOL, are in the process of being coloured. Stayed tuned for more info later!

Have a great day!

I have 2 spots open, I am not having a formal DT call, but I am looking for 2 people who love fancy floral designs and primarily work with pre-coloured images or decoupage or floral designs that would suit my coloured flowers and designs that are on a more ornate/whimsical side. If you think you fit the bill or know of someone please email ME.

Another note... still working on those coloured flowers.... one step forward two steps back, but I think it will be worth it ;)

Digital Tuesday Challenge

Here is the card I designed for the Digital Tuesday Challenge. I just checked the challenge post out and boy, the DTC DT have outdone themselves... pretty pretty eye candy! As you can see the theme this week is a very feminine one... Lace and Pearls! Woohoo! You must give it a try and you could win a $10 gift certificate to the Fred, She Said Store :D

Card details:

Mr. Cuttlebug loved this one.. the background is embossing folder chalked with cream/pink/green artist pastels; MS punch and a CB embossing border; Liquid Pearls; various ribbon and pearl string; large sticky flat back pearl. The flower is from "A Lovely Blossom & Butterfly Set" and was coloured with pencils and OMS (Pink and Cream - you add the cream after blending the pink, just colour on top no blending... it is a great highlight colour) the leaves are part of a piece I am working on for a coloured decoupage sheet. .. it is all one piece cut out and it fit behind the flower nicely.

Don't forget to check out the challenge ;) Have a great day... back to the drawing tablet for me LOL!

Blue Blossom Card

Hi, I thought I'd share a card I did for the "A Lovely Blossom & Butterfly" Set as a sample. I messed up the sentiment a bit ( oh well, maybe it adds a bit of rustic charm). ;) The image is coloured with pencils & OMS ( see below). Background is the satiny "wrong" side of some photo paper I have, with the "Lights" and Gold alcohol inks. The not-so-glossy surface gave the alcohol inks a less of a slick surface to slide around giving a more mottled watercolour appearance. I also embossed the background in the cuttlebug with the Leafy Branch folder.

The 3D'ed flower and leaves - it might look complicated but the 3d decoupage on the frame is not hard at all. I printed the blossom sheet and carefully placed the Spellbinders Labels Four die on the "leafy sprigs corner" so the stems were inside the corner of the die and just the outer leaves were cut through but still a bit of the outer leaves were inside the die-cut. I roughly coloured leaves and blossom as they are hiding, and nicely shaded the background. I properly coloured a second set of leaves and blossom and cut them out, moulded them a little with an embossing tool on a mousepad. I glued the leaves down with silicone glue and angled them in the glue for dimension. GLUE TIP: to get just a tiny ball of glue, just squeeze the tube slightly till it just rounds a bit at the end the opening and scrape it with a toothpick or skewer, I don't know if that is common decoupage knowledge, but that is how I get a bitty bump of glue LOL.

Sadder News: My FIL passed away last Monday. It has been a hard time for the family but we know Don is in a great place now. The funeral was last Thursday and was an awesome testament to a great man. His 4 "kids" went up together and told some stories, escapades, and shared some if his great fatherly wisdom and walk with the Lord. They even sang some of his favourite hymns and old jolly songs from his childhood in England.

I am trying to regroup and I am back to working on the coloured blossoms set plus a few others. Sorry for the delay.

I am sponsoring the Digital Tuesday Challenge next week so please check it out :) There is currently a card on the go on my desk. They asked me if I would like to share a card along with their DT's. That is so nice of them heehee. And the theme is right up my alley but I can't tell you what it is ;)

Have a great day, I hope to be back with some goodies soon :D

Carol L. has a wonderful new tutorial up on her blog. Carol is also offering an awesome butterfly word art PNG digi-freebie. Please check it out :)

CAROL's Background Paper Tutorial in MS WORD

Everything is still up in the air here.... one day at a time. My husband's father has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He is an awesome man and we all love him so much. The family is gathering in the area to visit and show him support and love. Saw him last night and he has been given drugs to help the pain, he is alot more comfortable now which is a blessing.

I have been cutting up paper and trying a new blossom decoupage design... it is quite pretty, but I am not sure if you decoupagers will love me or hate me... lots of tiny bits to cut LOL!

I'll try to get back to posting soon. Big hugs!

Fred.
