Here is my creation for the HOP:

There is a new girl in the STORE!  Emma The Skipper :)  She comes coloured and uncoloured. 

**TRUE STORY -  Emma has just discovered the joys of skipping!  She likes to skip and chant by herself on the sidewalk in front of our house... a few weeks ago, she came in the house scraped up and a big bloody scuff  RIGHT under her eye.. she had tripped and face planted onto the sidewalk! She messed up her wrists, knee, eye and then later discovered a nasty scrape we missed on the back of her shoulder! She nearly got a black eye but she healed VERY FAST!  Poor thing! She is still skipping though :) **

I used a fab digital paper from Donna's new FSS collab set, Summer's Roses Paper Set.

I also added some pastel yellow pearl string and sheer 7/8" mono edge satin ribbon ( daffodil ) and some lace trim.  Pizzazz Aplenty has pearl string and ribbon in all kinds of colours.  I am loving sheer ribbon and pearl string together.  ... ok maybe I am in a rut LOL!

CARD Hummingbird & Petunias

As I work my way through my backlog of unposted cards....

 

Here is the Wee Hummingbird & Petunias, one I made while I was designing the pre-coloured set.  Actually this one is a darker pink than the one included in the download.  I am showing here how I envisioned the print and digi to be used... decoupaged "off" the oval so the flowers and bird skim the edge of the diecut shape.  Just print and eyeball where you want the diecut shape be... so the flowers and bird are off the edge of the shape, cut and add  flowers and bird, that are extra on the sheet, adhered with foam tape/dots or decoupage glue.

News, Card, Freebie, Rosey & Nolan

Hey!  I thought I'd post on my blog so you know I haven't forgot about you ;)

I got a new pocket camera FREE with my Visa Rewards points ( Nikon CoolPix L22 ) and I just got around to unloading some photos off it.  I have a few cards I seriously need to post! LOL  Does that happen to you?  A backlog of card candy!!!

Anyhoo.. I will post some more as the week progresses. I found a quick "Man" card on there.  I love spending an hour or so, every once in a while, making alcohol inked backgrounds.  Great for fast cards or MAN cards LOL.  I wish I remembered what inks I used on this one CUZ I love it!:

I am going to hazard a guess and say Copper mixative, Raisin and Butterscotch or Sandal.  I made the Sentiment and you can snag it below ( PNG & JPG ) :)  Click to enlarge then save to your hard drive.

The warm mottled background reminds me of MORE photos I found on my camera...

...ROSEY!!!!

She is all grown up now and her black/grey areas have added new warm browns and reds... and she has got quite polka spotty... and curly.  Rosey is a Shichon... half Bichon Frise and half Shih Tzu... and she is a good mix.  This photo was just after a haircut.

I found out it was a new BLOGGER template/cart conflict.  I reverted to an ancient blog template ( Minima ) to fix it until my file host fixes their cart problem.  So all should be good and hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Coloured - Spring Flowers & Tulip Bouquet :)

I have finally got the Spring Flowers & PP Frame Set and Tulip Bouquet coloured... Yey! Took me awhile ;)  I am attempting to get some of my favourite  past digi pieces up to speed and offer a pre-coloured version.  Spring Flowers and Tulip Bouquet were requested and I am glad they did cuz I , IMHO, love how they turned out LOL!

2 Hummingbird Sets

Hi all!  Now bear with me....2  yes TWO Hummingbird sets LOL!  I started the first, then went off in another direction then returned to the first ;)  I love hummingbirds they are so fun to watch.  ... and so pretty.

Wee Hummingbird & Petunias ( DIGI and Pre-coloured Sets )

 Each of the above sets have the main image, the hummingbird and the "Petunia Trio".  The coloured set has 11 coloured hummingbirds and 2 sheets full of birds to print ;)  I modelled this cutesy hummer after the Winter Flying Birds Set.  I plan to make a Summer Birds version soon. Is there any particular bird you would like to see?? :)   I was sad to hear that Europe and the British Isles don't have hummingbirds unless they have escaped captivity... although they have hummingbird moths which are often mistaken for the little birds.

Hummingbird & Columbine

Columbine are so pretty.  I researched and hummers DO come with blue and violet throats as well as Ruby-Throated... which are abundant around our feeders.  Now the other variety are quite a bit farther south and can't recall their names.  But just imagine hummingbirds coming in ALL colours, what a wonderful world it would be ;)

I'll have another release hopefully Monday.... I had requests to colour the Spring Flowers Set and the Tulip Bouquet.  So that is next on my list.   Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to those who celebrate it... although every day should be Mother's Day!

DT Call Reminder :)

Hi all!

Just a reminder that the Fred She Said DT Call closes soon!  The call closes Tomorrow Friday 22 midnight but I will be looking over all the applications Saturday, so if it's in my email by Sat morning after my coffee ( 9 AM ), chances are I'll look at it ;)  Thanks so much to all who applied.

DT CALL: MAY1-JULY31

I have 2 spots open on my Design Team.  I am looking for designers who love floral and decorative designs.  Fred She Said sells outline images, pre-coloured images, patterns/templates/frames/ornate designs, papers and SVG/GSD cutting files for digital cutting machines.

Applicants must enjoy and have experience using digital materials that I have mentioned above, the ability to print, and perhaps, though not necessary, have use of and experience with SVG or GSD cutting files with  a digital cutting machine.  Good photographs of your designs are a must and having a blog and a presence on various papercrafting and cardmaking forums and challenges are an asset.


Most of my designs have a floral or nature theme and there will be some Christian/Inspirational designs coming up.  Please don't apply if you  are only interested in  character digi's.  There may be a few new upcoming  characters ( eg.  Emma's ) but no guarantees at the moment.

DT requirements are minimum 4 designs per month and participation in some of the activities and blog hops, Fred She Said will have.  Compensation will be all products released during the term and any products from the Store as long as you complete  one or two designs using that product.

Please email me (   fred.she.said@gmail.com  ) before APRIL 22 Midnight EDT with a bit about yourself , your blog, forums you participate in, any DT's you are on or have been on, as well as 2 or 3 designs that you feel represent your style.

DECISION will be made and announced Monday APRIL 25.

I used a RED version of the Parrot Tulip from the Pre-coloured set and decoupaged it.  The paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine Designs.  I accented the oval with frosted lace Stickles and some black pearl string.

EDIT- I was asked how I attach my pearl string - I have used Zip Dry or Ranger Inkssentials  Matte Accents Glue. You have to work fast with the Zip Dry.  I make a small bead line of glue in 3-4" sections and lay pearls in it and hold in place until it sets or seems to stay put.  Lately I am preferring the Matte Accents.  :)

Easter Chicky & a Tulip

Hi!  I have 2 new things in the store, yey!

I wanted to draw a ruffly tulip that could be used as a focal image or to  edge a frame.  I'll have a card made soon to show you what I mean... not so good with the words at the moment ;)

Apologies to y'all and to my DT... I am running late.  Let's just say this took me longer than I expected LOL. 

Lenten Roses - Hellebores... a request!  Digi and Pre-Coloured... wee!

And I had my heart on a series of Angels.  This angel spoke to me... she said I needed a good helping of Patience.  I tell ya, this girly gets frustrated super duper fast... I am God's work in progress.  I thank Him every day for putting people and family in my life that have the patience to put up with this one who has "None"  ;)  Anyway, Patience hovers quietly and calmly and waits.. she rocks.

You will notice a fairy wing version.. well this, my friends is version one.. I took it to the DH and he told me.. "those are NOT angel wings, those are fairy wings"  well I was going for cute perky peppy wings... OK I obliged him.. thus 2 versions. 

 and 12, yes, a 12 coloured set.... yes, it was a long week grin!

Rose Stencil Circle digi-freebie

Happy Valentine's Day!  I had a few ask about the floral design behind the Ornate Cut-Out Butterfly.  Actually, this was a digital experiment I devised in 2006 ( or so it says on my files LOL)  -  "Digital Peg Stamping" in Paint Shop Pro.    I made some small brushes/images, some taken from pieces of public domain rose stencil designs... which I then altered or repainted and also some brushes that I hand drew.  The process is alot like real stamping with those little peg stamps.  I can "stamp" with a colour, rotate the brush, change the opacity before I "stamp" - so some flowers are lighter and transparent... like you would with real stamping where you make a repeat impression without re-inking.  It was alot of fun.  I found the print in my stash and thought it would look neat with the butterfly.

I found my old file and took it into Painter and played with the colours to make this DIGI-FREEBIE :)  This package has 8 coloured versions.

If you are interested in the technique and have Paint Shop Pro or are handy with similar graphics editors, please leave a comment.  If there is enough interest, I might whip up a tutorial and make the brush set available for all you graphics geeks ;)

I hope you all had a wonderful lovey dovey day!  I got a heart box of Laura Secord chocolates... yum!  ..and a scare at the vets :O.. Rosey pup went in to get her yearly vaccinations and had a severe anaphylactic allergic reaction  right there on the vet table... thank goodness there and not at home... she had to get an IV and be put under observation.  It was scary!  I didn't know how she was for about an hour and a half!  But she is her sweet and happy puppy self now whew!  Oh how I wuv the little diddums!  They can sure tug at your heart strings.
