Rose Stencil Circle digi-freebie

Happy Valentine's Day!  I had a few ask about the floral design behind the Ornate Cut-Out Butterfly.  Actually, this was a digital experiment I devised in 2006 ( or so it says on my files LOL)  -  "Digital Peg Stamping" in Paint Shop Pro.    I made some small brushes/images, some taken from pieces of public domain rose stencil designs... which I then altered or repainted and also some brushes that I hand drew.  The process is alot like real stamping with those little peg stamps.  I can "stamp" with a colour, rotate the brush, change the opacity before I "stamp" - so some flowers are lighter and transparent... like you would with real stamping where you make a repeat impression without re-inking.  It was alot of fun.  I found the print in my stash and thought it would look neat with the butterfly.

I found my old file and took it into Painter and played with the colours to make this DIGI-FREEBIE :)  This package has 8 coloured versions.

I hope you all had a wonderful lovey dovey day!  I got a heart box of Laura Secord chocolates... yum!  ..and a scare at the vets :O.. Rosey pup went in to get her yearly vaccinations and had a severe anaphylactic allergic reaction  right there on the vet table... thank goodness there and not at home... she had to get an IV and be put under observation.  It was scary!  I didn't know how she was for about an hour and a half!  But she is her sweet and happy puppy self now whew!  Oh how I wuv the little diddums!  They can sure tug at your heart strings.

-the Ornate Cut Out Butterfly Set includes BOTH Cutting files ( SVG/MTC/GSD )  and Digi's ( that is more delicate than the cutting file).  I seriously can't stop playing with this one :D

2. Tattered Rose Spray & Scalloped Lace Heart Set - cutting files

    _ this set has cutting files( SVG/MTC/GSD) that is just a whole BUNCH of stuff! - 2 petal shapes ( one has lovely tattered rips on the edges of the petals), a leafy branch, rosebud, stamen, scalloped lace heart, scalloped heart backer & a Scalloped Heart CARD shape you fold.  The cutting files are in singles and sheet groupings so you can complete a whole rose spray from one sheet.  I have also included a printable sheet using the non-ripped "plain petals" and leafy branch that can be cut out by hand. ( if you are an intricate cutter! LOL)

Here is Fred's project:

I used the Hearts & Roses Pre-Coloured Set in RED.  I used a new to me Cottage Florals embossing folder by Craft Concepts. ( which I got a Crop Stop ;) )  I colored the frames with distress inks and also spritzed the background with iridescent gold glimmer spray.  I outlined the frames with a gold DecoArt Calligraphy  paint pen.. oh man... this is working way better than my Krylon gold leafing pen.. I have just about gave up on that... not sure if it is just too old?  Anyhoo... if you are looking for a nice gold edge on your projects.. I am so recommending the DecoArt  paint pens.

Just a note... later this evening I should have a new release of cutting files.... I didn't get time to complete them but... man... I am liking these, if I do say so myself.. so I'll be back! ;)

Love is in the Air

Hi all!

Love is in the air at  Fred She Said :)  Mwah!

2 new designs are in the store ( and precoloured versions... Fred LOVES her colouring challenged peeps -  You know who you are ;)   ).

We have ROSES! I lurve roses... Sigh.  This one is a Rose Spray in a Heart Frame and sentiments.

- I coloured the digi with inktense, watercolour AND prismacolors.. nothing like overkill LOL.  That's paper lace I had in my stash.  I used a digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs - Vintage set...  on which I did a level adjustment to get a punch more colour to match.

And it wouldn't be a Valentine's Day release without a shmooshy, shmaltzy, over-the-top cutie with extra fat cheek goodness!

Hi.  Just a note to say I updated the Paper Cutting Angel cutting files FREEBIE post to include a link to download the cutting files in GSD format.  It was requested by some customers with machines that don't import SVG like the Craft Rogo.  So please go HERE to get the download links :)

SNOW DAY here!  Wowza! the snow that fell last night is higher than Rosey our dog! .. and it's still coming down!  All schools are closed and they pulled all the buses off the streets in our nearby city of Owen Sound ON.  And it takes ALOT to shut anything down in our area.  We are toughies when it comes to our snow!  We just bought snowshoes for the whole family for Christmas ( early presents LOL) so we are all set if we need to get groceries LOL.

Paper Angels and SVG freebies

Hi everybody!  I have been busy making angels! Thanks so much Carol H. for this awesome idea!   You can see and participate in a FREE Paper Angel Class at the CDAC - it runs all month long :)  I decided to give family and friends angels instead of cards this year.. what was I thinking?! LOL  I have to make 15 to 20 and all that cutting and punching... yikes!  So I thought I would let my Cricut do the work ;)  I attended a webinar for Make the Cut software on how to curve a border strip recently and thought it would be great to make the semi-circle arm and dress templates with fancy trim ( like Carol shows) and I also made some wings while I was at it ;)

Here are some free cutting files and a printable wings template ( if you don't have a digital cutting machine)

The cutting files are in SVG format and can be used in digital cutting machines that accept SVG files - eg  Craft Robo, Silhouette, Cougar, Gazelle and Cricut ( you need special software for the Cricut, two good programs are Make the Cut and Sure Cuts Alot.  I used Make the Cut to creat the SVG files.

Paper Angel Tutorial by CAROL H

DT Carol H.  has been making these fabulous Paper Angels!!!  Aren't they cute?!  She made some using the Christmas Birds Series - Winter Chickadee ( precoloured version ), a printable template she designed, a glass ball ornament, and a Martha Stewart corner punch.. and feathers ( the feathers are EVERYWHERE people.. watch the video LOL ).  She also made some with embossing and distress inks.. oooh la la!  They are all fabulous!

Flying Winter Birds

This weekend, I was making some Christmas Wreath cards and thought they needed some birds :)  So I took the birds from  the Emma the Caroler/Caroling Angel Digi sets and coloured them up into 4 different birds - Snow Birds, English Robins, Blue Birds and Chickadees :)  I have uploaded them to the STORE HERE and it includes the individual images in JPG & PNG and a ready-to -print sheet full of flying birds.  I just think they are a great little embellishment for any project ;)

Mrs. Fred is up first.. that's ME!  (I love that I get to play along GRIN!)

Merry Christmas!  I really enjoyed creating this Christmas Wreath. Anything you can stick a BIG BOW on, I am all over that ;)  Actually the bow was recycled off a package of Christmas socks LOL!  This card uses one of the coloured wreaths from the pre-coloured Christmas Wreath Set which has several different colours. I printed the wreath on matte photo paper as well as one of the sentiments that is included.  The background was debossed in the cuttlebug and sponged with bundled sage distress ink.  I also added glossy accents to the berries.
