Dover Stained Glass - Coloured

I coloured a Dover Stained Glass image. I love the Dover Stained Glass, especially the butterflies!

If there are any Painter users reading this, FYI, I mainly use the tinting brushes on a gel layer to colour in - soft glazing round and the blender - using several layers for glazing.

Want I do with these is print several on good quality photo paper ( matte looks awesome) and do a 3d decoupage technique, angle the wings a bit to make them flutter off the card :) Please click image to enlarge.

Another note re: getting good print results: I have bought Staples brand matte premium paper - it has a good weight to it and gives vibrant colours and dark blacks with my dye-based Epson photo printer. I hope I can find this paper again when my stash gets low LOL!

Flower Thingies

Now see, I wrote this at the time:

"Flowery I don't know what thingies. I'm not sure if they would make good tiles or not but I just like looking at them LOL." April 3, 2007

LOL! They look pretty good with this fold.... Sunshine Square :) Thanks, Joanne!

More Doodled Tiles

These are a little wild LOL! Not the style I am trying to go for but they are quite dramatic - usually I have no idea what is going to come out of my pen.... always a surprise! The tiles made from the original have an asian or celtic feel I think.

CHALLENGE REMINDER :)

Wow I am up 500 hits since I started this challenge! Thanks everyone! The hits have stalled since yesterday, if you can help me out by commenting on the message link below if you have mentioned my link/challenge in a blog/forum/group/friend etc.

Doodle-dallion and Digital Blog Candy

OR I'd love any tips on increasing blog traffic.. I have read some tips, confused by some tips and have realized some techniques aren't compatible with Blogger. One tip, I know is important, is to blog regularly LOL! Come Septmber, I will have more free time to devote to creative endeavors and to post more goodies! I am quitting providing childcare and taking a part-time job which will leave several days/week free to create and paint. I CAN"T WAIT!!!! LOL I will miss all the little ones in my care but my own kids have a burnt out mom who is not much good to them at the moment.

My original goal for the challenge was 1000 hits then I drank too much coffee ROFL and said 5000. Silly me! I will give it a week and see what transpires ;) and consider lowering it to 2000.

Doodled Tiles

A tile I painted last night. Then I played and made some TB tiles. If I get some play time today, I want to make some soft coordinating background papers. Speaking of backgrounds, I found these on a group; TWO very handy internet tools for us papercrafters ;)

Stripe Generator

Tartan Maker

OK some TB Tiles: please click images to enlarge :)

Doodle-dallion and Digital Blog Candy

This CHALLENGE is CLOSED.
Here is a low-rez pink version plus a tea-bag tile for your enjoyment :) I would like to get my visitor count over 5000 LOL. So I would like to make you an offer. Help spread the love... mention my blog on a group or to a friend :) If you do, please leave me a comment on this message, why you love papercrafting and possibly a colour combo request to colour this doodle ( I frequent the Stampin Up Color Combo thingy if that is a help ;) ) Now, originally, I had this set to collecting your email to send you a supahsekret link to an album of hi-rez images of this doodle-dallion in many hues plus some other goodies LOL, but then I thought... that sounds like alot of work. SO I WILL WORK IT THIS WAY.... ONCE I GET 5000 HITS, *** I WILL POST A DOWNLOAD LINK FOR ALL LOL!!!

This CHALLENGE is CLOSED.

Doodle-dallion Card

I made this card last week for a friend. It is from a doodle I did the week before. The medallion is 7 layers :O .... and was too heavy ...kept tipping card over...hence photographed on its back LOL! It reminded me of a elaborate tiered cake ...which got me thinking... ( LOL maybe a doodle-dallion cake in the future?).

Pet Portrait

I finished this painting tonight. I am so happy it is done LOL! This was a beloved dog of dear neighbours of my parents. The dog recently passed away. She was their baby, a wonderful dog, part Rottweiler. I hope they like it. Click the painting to enlarge. I painted from a scanned neighbourhood calendar so I had to basically fudge everything, highlights, eyes, background. They live right on the beach and the background is "me" remembering being there on their beach. Not too hard, I was raised a beach kid LOL! I loved living on Lake Ontario... except during smelt season...ewwww. The look of the water constantly changes. Here is the scan:

Webshots Fan's Cards!

Aren't these beautiful? I made a new friend through Webshots! :) Marion Evans and she lives near my neck of the woods LOL

She used some of my foldy flower tiles to make these cards! And she is now the happy owner of some more pretty little foldy flowers ;) Thanks so much for sharing these, Marion! She really made my day!

Butterflies DoodleDallion UM Sheet

I just received my UM for the Butterflies Doodle-dallion Set. Stamp Attack Art Stamps did a marvelous job on the rubber! I am excited to try them! I will try them out hopefully over the weekend and post my results. Stay tuned :) Click the above image and it will magically get bigger :)

FYI, the square medallion is 8.5 cm across ( 3 and 3/8"), 12 cm on the diagonal. The smaller butterfly and single flower are identical to the butterflies and flower in the medallion - to save on paper when stamping out, you don't have to stamp as many medallions this way. Am I THINKING or what?! LOL

I am going to attempt to make or find a box template and put the finished medallion on top, excellent gift box for wedding/shower, etc I am thinking. I am going to try this with vellum and white embossing.

More Cards by others :)

Boy I am getting carried away NOW! But I haven't posted for awhile so I am making up! Here are some awesome cards made by a teabag folding group I help moderate that has nurtured my papercrafting and designing obsession.

First Card is from Leo Thompson, my list mum, a wonderful bronze stamped confection! She used the medallion stamp from the Inked Impressions Paisley sheet set from Stamp Attack Art Stamps. Leo is a very special person in my life and I love her to bits, I am dedicating this stamp to her :)

Here is another gorgeous one from Carla van der Mei-Stolk, she told me she coloured the mulberry paper, love it.

Here is a beauty from Lynda Jorgensen that she made for her Mum. Wow!

How, did you say, or where did they get all these different colours of these medallions? They are my guinea pigs from a small, talented, intimate cardmaking group I help moderate LOL! I hope to offer these and many other designs soon as printables for purchase, info will made available soon ( hopefully LOL).

UPDATE!

Please see this post that's down a few at April 27th - an update - The Butterfly Doodle-Dallions stamp sheet is available! Check it out :)

A Card by Joanne of TFT2

Here is a lovely card from Joanne Gelnar from a tea bag folding group I am a member of. She used my Weird Flower tile and the Sunshine Square Fold, a delightful, talented, generous Penny Wessenauer ( TFT2 moderator) made instructions for. Please check Penny's site out, that is where you can find the fold under Teabag Folds and Tips. This folds works so well with this tile, thanks Joanne!

If anyone has made a card or anything with any of my creations, I'd LOVE to see it :) Just send me a scan to fred.she.saidATgmail.com ( just change the AT to @) and I'd love to post it here and/or at my webshots.

Flower tiles

Here are some doodled flower tiles I made a while ago. The center flower is available as a rubberstamp. As soon as I get more info, I'll post more info on the Butterfly Medallion Sheet available at Stamp Attack Art Stamps. :))))) I am excitedly waiting for the stamps to arrive, I'll post examples and a preview of the sheet soon. Now I just need to find time to play! ... the predicament of the papercrafts addict WAHM :(

Another Medallion Card

Here is another medallion flower card, this time in blue. The bitty flowers and all the blue swirl lines on background are embellished with stardust glitter pen and border was painted with sky blue twinkling H2O's.

Productive Day - Cards

Made these today.

Used some Foldy Flowers and a Paper Pricking Pattern for the first card. Top card outlined with stardust pen on flower and background swirlies and bottom card, light wash of iridescent red on CS.... gotta have my glitter! LOL The swirly paper can be found in my Webshots.

Flower Medallion

I think I finished a design today. I've been struggling with ink design of this one for a few weeks. I am going to give it a go at layering this on a card this week.

Fluffing the Nest

I've been playing with my blog. I added a new Header (It matches my new dress!), edited some posts to get rid of annoying slideshows and slowdowns, worked on labels (still a mess) and added a counter . I tried other colours for backgrounds and other header designs...but I seem to love the black. I learned SO MUCH experimenting and tweaking and reading the Blogger Help section. Blogs aren't so confuddling and intimidating now.

Dragonflies Medallion

Here is an image I have been working on. I have't worked out all the kinks yet, but I felt like colouring it today.

Lace Tile

Here is a tile I made. The image was originally a strange flower I made out of comma strokes. Feel free to colourize, use as a pattern, mask, etc.

Butterflies Medallion Card

Here is a Round Robin card I made recently. It's embellished with iridescent blue twinklers. This design (along with some 'friends') might be in the process of becoming a stamp ;) .

EDIT JUNE 1st: It HAS! Please check out the Butterfly Doodle-Dallions stamp sheet by Tracey Miller at Stamp Attack Art Stamps!

Weird Flower Tiles

Doodley-doo-doo-doo.....

Strange Pen Happenings

I just thought this doodle needed a place to live. LOL! I don't know what it is, is it a flower, a wrought iron decoration? I'll just call it "Strange Pen Happenings".

Card - Doodledallion... Great News!

A card I made my husband. I am quite excited about it. It has become a rubberstamp! Yes, a rubberstamp! Carol Clements, the wonderful owner of StampAttack Art Stamps saw my design and thought it would make a great stamp! Please check her out... some lovely stamps to be had there :) I just got my rubber for this , straight from England, and I can't wait to try it. I have a feeling I will be giving my heatgun and my twinkling H2O's a work out. Stay Tuned.

Flower Thingies

Note to self: Please post more regularly... a whole month skipped LOL!

Flowery I don't know what thingies. I'm not sure if they would make good tiles or not but I just like looking at them LOL.
