Fred She Said SUMMER 2012 DT CALL

Fred She Said Digital Designs is looking for designers who love floral and decorative designs.  Fred She Said sells outline images, pre-coloured images, patterns/templates/frames/ornate designs, papers and SVG/GSD cutting files for digital cutting machines.

Applicants must enjoy and have experience using digital materials that I have mentioned above, the ability to print, and perhaps, though not necessary, have use of and experience with SVG or GSD cutting files with  a digital cutting machine.  Good photographs of your designs are a must and having a blog and a presence on various papercrafting and cardmaking forums and challenges are an asset.

Most of the Fred She Said designs have a floral or nature theme and there will be some Christian/Inspirational designs as well.  Please don't apply if you  are only interested in  character digi's. 

DT requirements are minimum 4 designs per month and participation in some of the activities and blog hops, Fred She Said will have.  Compensation will be all products released during the term and any products from the Store as long as you complete  one or two designs using that product.

Please email me (   fred.she.said@gmail.com  ) before  Monday, June 4th Midnight EDT with a bit about yourself , your blog, forums you participate in, any DT's you are on or have been on, as well as 2 or 3 designs that you feel represent your style.

DECISION will be made and announced Wednesday June 6th on the Fred She Said Blog.

CARD - pink floral & Ornate Oval Frame

Hey all!  Here is a birthday card I made for my mother.  The floral was made with the Build a Floral Spray cutting file set and the Ornate Oval Frame cutting file.  Rose was made with various distress inked  layers of  paper petals  all closed together with a small brad.  Then I  spritzed with homemade glimmer sprays to moisten and then scrunched and  gently unscrunched all the petals.  The leaves were painted and spritzed with distress inks and homemade spray as well.  The frame was cut from cereal box and painted with a vintage white acrylic paint and then a layer of Ranger Distress Crackle paint.... then sponged with distress ink so it stuck in the cracks.  The background was made with alcohol inks.

CARD - Come and Get It Challenge

Hey all!

I am sponsoring the Come and Get It Challenge Blog today.

 The FSS DT and I were invited to play along.  The theme is a sketch.  Here is my crack at it ;)

The image is from my new Dragonfly Flower Doodledallion Digi Set. I used watercolour pencils and a dove blender pen to color.  The embossed panels behind the image were fun to make.  I scribbled various rainbow colours of artist chalk pastels onto the raised design then brushed slightly watered down acrylic white craft paint until the colours started blending together.  The bottom panel is white cardstock with a aqua coloured acrylic paint smeared on using a cosmetic sponge.  I added stickles and pearl eyeballs to the dragonfly.

I made a Dragonfly Flower Doodledallion Set.  It originated from a dragonfly I had in rubber form from my first foray into rubber stamps.  Here is a card I used the dragonfly on , along with rose and frame from the Ornate Pearl Frame and the Build a Floral Spray cutting sets:

See this frame? I should have a hand cuttable coloured frame set next week :)

 I converted the dragonfly to digital and thought that he needed something to land on :)  ... hence a new doodledallion!  This set comes with sentiments, several borders.. and whole bunch of elements.  This set is uncoloured.  Pre-coloured version/s should be available soon ( next week ).

Cutting Files in the Store

Hey all!  I have some cutting files in the store.  These are for electronic cutting machines (file formats: MTC/SVG/Vector PDF/DXF/GSD/Silhouette Studio).

The above frame I plan to offer pre-coloured printable frames for those who don't have electronic cutters.  I am aiming for next week. This one is my favourite cuz you can add pearls or bling to the little circular parts :)

Diamond Rose + Paper Pricking Pattern

 

I made this card from a laser print on watercolour paper.  It's my first attempt with my new Letraset Aquamarkers :) This pink paper pricked background is actually cream card stock sponged with spun sugar distress ink before I paper pierced it.

The Diamond Rose Sets are totally customizable.  I added lots of extra configurations so if you don't like the diamond shape - Great! There is a version with no frame. Cut if out with an oval or what ever you like :)

 I have a few more designs to work on ( ahem... Nolan with a Heart - yup he's still free LOL and a wee baby bunny) and will be adding some long overdue cutting file patterns.  Workings as fast as I can ;)

One Stop Craft Challenge

Yey!  Fred She Said is sponsoring the One Stop Craft Challenge. It starts today :)

 DT Michelle & I are playing along with their DT.  The theme is "Button It!"

When I think of buttons I think of flowers :).  Still my favourite are  Fred's Foldy Flowers - the first ones I did.  There's nothing like relaxing while colouring ( with whatever! ;) ) and cutting out a sheet of flowers.  I coloured these with watercolor pencils, blending pen, Ranger Inkssentials Black Enamel, and Black Soot Distress Inkpad. I coloured up another Daisies foldy Flower and made a sun out of it. I did something out of the ordinary and assembled and attached the flowers and leaves with a GLUE GUN... fast & fun!.. but a bit stringy LOL!  Cheerful card for a dreary day.  We are in between snow systems and we should get quite the weather today along with 70 km winds... yahoo!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi All!  Happy Valentine's Day!  Just popping in between work! Just helped feed 36 ravenous children LOL!

Stuff has been out of the ordinary here.  My DH was away working for most of last month and for the past few weeks.  So I've been Mrs. Dad LOL! Lots of school projects, speeches and exams... and bugs!  Since Christmas I kind of de-railed for lack of a better word.  I'd sit at my desk ( when I had the time ) and nothing was coming.  Mind you I have ALOT of half finished projects and designs and reworked ones!  I finally completed a Valentine's image, but the  week and weekend got busy and I was unable to finish the files on time.

 As my Valentine's Day gift to you, I am posting the image in JPG in DIGI and pre-coloured for free until Sunday morning when I hope to get the "fully functioning" product with sheets and PNGs :).  After Sunday you will be able to find it in the STORE.  This limited time freebie also includes versions with no text on the heart.

Sorry - Feedburner glitch

I apologize to all my email subsribers who received a post from Fred She Said this morning.  The post was from July 2011!  I am not sure what happened but I googled and noticed that some feedburner users who would delete a post on their blog - Feedburner would send a random post out to email subscribers.  Truly strange!  Anyway, I hope you are all having a great Friday!

Snowflake Tag & a Freebie

For the tag, I drew a snowflake to use in my cutting machine.

I have a Digital Snowflake Freebie for you to download. It is on my box.com (UPDATED JUN 2017 link working)

  I have included an SVG cutting file, a black png for auto-tracing into your cutting software if you can't open SVG.  Also a bunch of PNGs and coloured jpgs you can print and cut or design with.

I cut the snowflake out of cereal box board and painted with gesso, inked with a glue pad and applied glamour dust.  I cut the backer out of card stock and sponged on some Iced Spruce distress ink.  The image is Hat Tipping Snowman.  I embellished with Stickles and a Viva Pearl Pen and MS Branch punch.


I'd like to thank DEBBIE and CAROL H for being on the Fred She Said DT.  Sadly they are leaving and we will miss them and their wonderful contributions.   I wish you both all the best - BIG HUGS!

Hi everyone!  Sorry it's been a wee bit quiet.  We have had family health issues and Dave's mom has been in and out of the hospital with heart problems ( one being a heart attack ) and the family is helping get my SIL's house ready and rearranged so that Dave's mom can move in with them.  Just ALOT going on!  .... and now we are into the holiday season.. busy busy!

Here is my BLOG HOP project :)

I used the Christmas Poinsettia Lantern Set.  I printed the included text background, wrinkled and distress inked and shimmer sprayed with gold.  The lantern and poinsettia are pre-coloured ( set comes with outlines to colour as well).  I used distress ink coloured and wrinkled seam binding and my usual favourite pearl string ;).
